Walk of Fame
Olympia Bob Run as Open-Air Museum
Experience history where it was made
The unique natural ice track in the Upper Engadin becomes an open-air museum. The fascinating sport of sled racing is honoured where the world’s first international bobsleigh races took place in 1897. The Walk of Fame leads from the Info Point at the bobsleigh start along the legendary Olympia Bob Run St. Moritz – Celerina through the history of bobsleigh and skeleton racing. By means of QR codes, the information and pictures on the large-format panels provide an even deeper insight into the world of these fascinating ice channel sports.
Year-round experience
In summer, the course of the bobsleigh run is recognisable as a track in the terrain, while in winter it forms what is probably the largest ice sculpture in the world. The 1722-meter-long ice channel is rebuilt every November, is in operation from Christmas to the beginning of March and then slowly melts away. → More about the track construction
The Walk of Fame along the track can be walked all year round. Only during the construction of the track and during the snowmelt (March to May) is it not possible to reach some of the panels on foot.
