European Championship silver for Olympic Champion Nolte ahead of Kim Kalicki with bronze
St. Moritz (RWH) Second victory of the season for two-time Olympic Champion Kaillie Armbruster Humphries, Melanie Hasler first European Champion in 2-woman Bobsleigh from Switzerland since 2014: The IBSF World Cup in 2-woman Bobsleigh came to an end in St. Moritz (SUI) with two beaming winners.
Four-time 2-woman Bobsleigh World Champion Kaillie Armbruster Humphries (USA) and her brakewoman Jasmine Jones secured the World Cup victory in the sixth race of the 2025/2026 Olympic season. As the World Cup also counts as the continental championship for athletes from Europe, Melanie Hasler and her brakewoman Nadja Pasternack (SUI, 0.01 seconds behind) celebrated their first European Championship title in the 2-man Bobsleigh with second place in the World Cup rankings as the best European team. The title comes 12 years after Fabienne Meyer/Tanja Mayer, who were the first Swiss women to win the European Championships in 2014. Hasler had already won European Championship gold in the Women’s Monobob in St. Moritz the day before.
In third place in the World Cup and with European Championship silver in St. Moritz: defending champion Laura Nolte (GER, 0.03 seconds behind) with brakewoman Leonie Kluwig. Nolte/Kluwig set both the start record (5.44 seconds) and the track record (1:08.61 minutes) in the second run. For 2-woman Bobsleigh Olympic Champion Nolte, this is her sixth European Championship medal, having won the title four times so far.
The European Championship bronze went to Kim Kalicki/Talea Prepens (GER), who finished fourth in the IBSF World Cup on the Olympia Bobrun in St. Moritz Celerina.
In the overall standings for the 2025/2026 IBSF World Cup, Laura Nolte (GER, 1300 points) goes into next week’s final in Altenberg (GER) as the leader. Kaillie Armbruster Humphries (USA, 1218) is second overall, ahead of Kim Kalicki (GER, 1170).
