High drama unfolded in the IBSF European Cup women’s two-woman bobsleigh as Bree Walker and Kiara Reddingius of Australia claimed victory with a total time of 2:18.10 minutes, securing a narrow win.
Just behind them were Germany’s Charlotte Candrix and Anabel Galander. With a time of 2:18.14 minutes, only 0.04 seconds adrift of the winners, the German duo finished second in an extremely close race.
Third place went to Leona Klein and Jana Vollmer. The German team recorded a total time of 2:18.41 minutes, completing the podium after two strong runs.
From a Swiss perspective, Selina Isler and Isabelle Kaufmann finished in sixth place with a total time of 2:21.00 minutes.
Today’s race also decided the European Cup overall standings in the women’s two-woman bobsleigh. Charlotte Candrix secured the overall title with 840 points, followed by Leona Klein in second place with 734 points and Giada Andreutti of Italy in third place with 646 points.
In addition, the combined European Cup standings, which included all monobob and two-woman bobsleigh races throughout the season, were also decided. Charlotte Candrix claimed the combined title as well, ahead of Leona Klein in second place and Simona De Silvestro in third.
