Zern Leads German Triple Podium in European Cup Men’s Four-Man Bobsleigh
A strong German team presence dominated the IBSF European Cup men’s four-man bobsleigh. Laurin Zern, together with Marvin Paul, David Steube and Rupert Schenk, claimed victory with a total time of 2:12.01 minutes. The quartet delivered two convincing runs to secure the top spot in the standings.
Second place went to Tobias Dostthaler, Simon Büthe, Julian Klein and Nick Kocevar. Their time of 2:12.48 minutes, just 0.47 seconds behind the winners, further underlined Germany’s impressive performance.
Completing the podium were Alexander Czudaj, Bastian Lanitz, Bruno Götzel and Nino Vogel. With a total time of 2:12.56 minutes, they finished third.
From a Swiss perspective, Jan Scherrer, Tobias Gnägi, Leandros Manganas and Linus Casutt placed seventh with a total time of 2:13.61 minutes. They were followed by Sandro Felder, Nicola Mariani, Gregory Jones and Dominik Schläpfer in eighth place (2:13.86 minutes). The team of Sven Luca Renggli, Janis Leandro Gretler, Noël Limacher and Liam Burri finished tenth with a time of 2:15.94 minutes.
Today’s race also decided the European Cup overall standings in the men’s four-man bobsleigh. Hans Peter Hannighofer secured the overall title with 794 points, followed by Maximilian Illmann with 756 points and Laurin Zern with 668 points.
In addition, the combined European Cup standings, which included all monobob and two-man bobsleigh races throughout the season, were confirmed. Maximilian Illmann claimed the combined title, ahead of Hans Peter Hannighofer in second place and Laurin Zern in third.
