Annen claims Junior World Championship gold in monobob – double podium for Switzerland

A major success for Switzerland at the IBSF Junior World Championships in the women’s monobob: Debora Annen secured the gold medal with a total time of 2:24.39 minutes, capping off a strong and consistent performance.

Silver went to Germany’s Charlotte Candrix, who also delivered two solid runs and finished in 2:24.82 minutes, just 0.43 seconds behind. Switzerland’s Selina Isler completed the podium, claiming bronze with a total time of 2:25.27 minutes (+0.88) and ensuring a double podium finish for the host nation.

Alongside the junior women’s race, the U23 classification of the Junior World Championships was also decided. Charlotte Candrix took gold in this category with the same time of 2:24.82 minutes. Selina Isler finished second in the U23 ranking with 2:25.27 minutes (+0.45), while Sofia Stepushkina (AIN – Individual Neutral Athlete) secured third place in 2:25.53 minutes (+0.71).
