Germany triumphs in the men’s two-man bobsleigh race

The Germans Johannes Lochner and Francesco Friedrich won the IBSF two-man bobsleigh World Cup today with the same time. In the fifth race of the pre-Olympic winter, Olympic champion Friedrich, with his brakeman Alexander Schüller, and the 2023 world champions Johannes Lochner/Georg Fleischhauer had the exact same total time down to the hundredth of a second after two runs.

Adam Ammour and Benedikt Hertel from Germany completed the podium by securing third place with a total time of 2:12.28 minutes.

The remaining positions were occupied by international teams, including Markus Treichl and Daiyehan Nichols-Bardi from Austria in fourth place with 2:13.22 minutes, and the Swiss duo Michael Vogt and Andreas Haas, who finished just behind with a total time of 2:13.23 minutes. Brad Hall/Greg Cackett (GBR) came in sixth place. The results for the Swiss teams were: Rohner Bulls (7th) and Team Follador (9th).

In the overall standings for the IBSF World Cup 2024/25, defending champion Francesco Friedrich (GER, 1100 points) continues to lead after five of eight races, ahead of Johannes Lochner (GER, 1070). The overall third place is held by Brad Hall (GBR, 962).
