Skeleton Mixed Team Event: Victory for Germany

Jacqueline Pfeifer/Axel Jungk (GER) as Team GER 2 have won the third Skeleton Mixed Team race of the IBSF World Cup 2024/25. On the Olympia Bob Run St. Moritz – Celerina, the German duo outperformed the US team of Mystique Ro/Austin Florian (USA 1, 0.13 seconds behind), finishing in second place. In the third race of the season for the new Olympic discipline, which will make its debut at the Winter Games in Milan-Cortina in 2026, third place went to the British team of Amelia Coltman/Matt Weston (GBR, 1.04 seconds behind).

For the first time, teams from Latvia and Brazil participated in the team competition of skeleton athletes in the Olympic format with reaction starts. Darta Neimane (LAT), who finished second at the 2024 Youth Olympic Winter Games (YOG), and her mixed partner, YOG fourth-place finisher Davis Valdovskis, finished in 15th place today. Nicole Silveira from Brazil, who is ranked third in the Women’s Skeleton World Cup, paired with 17-year-old Eduardo Strapasson, finished in 18th place in the IBSF World Cup.
