Janine Flock (AUT) wins Skeleton World Cup

The Austrian skeleton athlete Janine Flock triumphed at today’s IBSF World Cup. With an outstanding run time of 1:09.09 minutes in her second run, the three-time European champion secured first place for the second time this pre-Olympic winter at the Olympia Bob Run in St. Moritz – Celerina.

The second position was claimed by the reigning European champion Kim Meylemans from Belgium, who finished just 0.18 seconds behind Flock, thus celebrating her third podium finish of the season. Nicole Silveira from Brazil secured third place (0.27 seconds back), also earning a spot on the podium—this was already her second after the opening World Cup in PyeongChang (KOR) in November 2024.

The fourth to sixth places went to Tabitha Stoecker (GBR), Kimberley Bos (NED), and Jacqueline Pfeifer (GER), allowing athletes from a total of six nations to make it into the top six. The two Swiss athletes, Sara Schmied and Julia Simmchen, finished in 28th and 30th places.

In the overall standings of the IBSF World Cup 2024/25, Janine Flock (AUT) leads with 1390 points, thus taking the top position before the finale in Lillehammer (NOR) in February. The overall second place now belongs to Olympic champion Hannah Neise (GER) with 1300 points, who finished 14th in St. Moritz. Kimberley Bos (NED) is in third place overall with 1273 points after seven of eight races.
