Men’s Skeleton World Cup: Brit Matt Weston Impresses Again

In the thrilling men’s race, British athlete Matt Weston took the lead and secured first place with a total time of 2:14.61 minutes. He impressed with consistently strong performances in both runs.

German athlete Christopher Grotheer also delivered an impressive performance, finishing in second place with a total time of 2:15.15 minutes. Despite his strong showing, he finished 0.54 seconds behind Weston.

Close behind Grotheer was Italian athlete Amedeo Bagnis, who claimed third place with a total time of 2:15.17 minutes.

German athletes Axel Jungk and Lukas David Nydegger finished in fourth and sixth places, while Austin Florian from the USA took fifth.

Livio Summermatter was the best Swiss competitor, finishing in 20th place. His teammate Vinzenz Buff came in 24th.

In the overall standings for the IBSF World Cup 2024/25, Matt Weston (GER, 1480 points) extended his lead after seven of eight races. The second overall position is held by teammate Marcus Wyatt (GBR, 1357) – the 2024 European champion finished eighth today. In third place before the final is Christopher Grotheer (GER, 1310), who had won the first four races but had to sit out in Sigulda (LAT) in December 2024 due to injury.
